Class Policies
- Registration and pre-payment is required to save your spot.
- If you need to withdraw from a class for which you are registered, please give 24 hours notice in order to receive a refund or credit.
- Materials are available at The Bead Gallery at a 15% discount to class participants. Be sure to mention that the purchases you are making are for a class so we can be sure to give you your discount.
- Classes will run if there are two or more people enrolled. If you are the only person enrolled in a class, we will offer the class to you as a private lesson at private lesson rates. If you do not wish to take a private lesson, we will issue you a credit or refund.

Classes are divided into #1 classes, which are suitable for any level of beading expertise, including beginner, and #2 classes, which are more suitable for those with some experience. The Bead Gallery staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have about classes.

#1 - Soldered Ring$50 Materials Extra (about $10)
Instructor: Angela
In just two and a half hours, you will learn to saw, bends, file, solder, anneal, pickle, and polish metal as you create a beautiful sterling silver ring. If after taking the class, you find out that you love working with metal, you can then sign up for the cabochon setting class and further embellish your ring.
Four(4) students maximum.

#2 - Bezel Setting a Cabochon to a Ring$60 Materials Extra (about $40)
Instructor: Angela
Take your soldering skills and the ring you made in class #1 to the next level by embellishing it with a cabochon stone set in a silver bezel setting. You will learn how to form bezel wire around any shape cabochon, constructing a custom bezel cup. This class teaches how to attach a cabochon to a ring.

#2 - Bezel Setting a Cabochon- Create a Pendant

This class is for you if you have some soldering experience and want to learn how to set a cabochon into a bezel setting. Create a custom bezel setting, then use jump rings, silver wire, or a read-made bail to create a pendant.

#1 - Tube-Set Earrings$60 Materials Extra

Use sterling silver tubes to create a bezel setting for a Cubic Zirconium cabochon, then attach earwires to create an elegant and modern pair of earrings. Students will learn basic silver smithing techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering and polishing.

#1 - Intro to Precious Metal Clay (PMC)$50 Materials Extra
Instructor: Cyndy
Learn how to create beautiful jewelry components from Precious Metal Clay. PMC contains particles of pure silver, suspended in organic clay. Shape your pieces, then burn off the organic material with creme brulee torch. The components become pure silver.

#1 - Tube Rivet Pendant
$45 Materials Extra

Learn how to join metal using the cold connection technique called riveting. First, use letter stamps to write a message on two copper blanks (pieces of metal.) Next, drill holes and connect the blanks using metal tubing. Last, polish your pieces, put them on a chain or piece or leather and enjoy all the compliments!

#1 - Icicle Earrings

You will love the texture and movement of these pieces! First, cut wire and use a torch to "ball up" the ends. Then, bend and assemble the pieces into a pair of sumptuous earrings. This class covers cutting, filing, bending, cleaning and polishing sterling silver wire.

#1 - Hammered Ring

Create a new design element when you hammer wire to create a soldered ring. This class is similar to the soldered ring class that uses patterned wire. You will learn to saw, bend, file, solder, anneal, pickle, and polish metal as you create a beautiful sterling silver ring. If after taking the class, you find out that you love working with metal, you can then sign up for the cabochon setting class and further embellish your ring.

#1 - Soldered Hammered Copper Hoop Earrings *NEW CLASS*

Learn how to shape copper wire into hoops, then, hammer the wire to create sparkling facets. Next, learn the basics of soldering as you create a succession of connecting hoops that make this earring design so sophisticated. This class covers the basics of metal smithing, including sawing, bending, filing, sanding, polishing, and soldering.
